Join the Grandview Library for four of his most indelible films, directed by such giants as Howard Hawkes, George Kukor, and Alfred Hitchcock. Comedy and suspense never looked so good!

3/18: The Awful Truth (1937). Screwball comedy involving a divorcing couple’s new romance jealousies. Oscar: five nominations, including Leo McCarey’s Best Director win.
3/25: His Girl Friday (1940). Screwball comedy about a newspaper editor’s efforts to stop his ex-wife reporter from remarrying. Co-starring Rosalind Russell.
4/1: Suspicion (1941). Alfred Hitchcock thriller about a shy wife and her charming husband’s true character. Oscar: Joan Fontaine won Best Actress.
4/8: Holiday (1938). A self-made man has second thoughts about marrying into a rich family. Co-starring Katharine Hepburn, who is featured in our next film series.
