Date:
Mon, Aug 25, 2014

Time:
6:00pm - 8:30pm

Nothing cools you off more during the sweltering summer months than watching people even sweatier than you are. With this in mind, the Grandview Library presents four perspiration-charged masterpieces sure to make you reach for the nearest pitcher of ice water.

Mondays in August at 6 pm:

  • 8/4: Duel in the Sun (1946)
Overbaked Western melodrama with Gregory Peck and Jennifer Jones in passionate love/hate relationship.

  • 8/11: The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948)
One of Humphrey Bogart's best and most intense performances in John Huston's sweltering morality tale.

  • 8/18: Cool Hand Luke (1967)
Paul Newman plays Luke and George Kennedy won an Oscar in this sweaty flick where the only thing cool is the title.

  • 8/25: For a Few Dollars More (1965)
The second of Sergio Leone's heated Spaghetti Westerns with Clint Eastwood as the Man with No Name. For mature audiences only.

All movies are shown in large-screen digital projection.
