Display: World Peace Through Education
"You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
Find books on education, altruism, volunteering, and Pakistan & Afghanistan on the second floor bridge of the Library, between Circulation and Reference.
This display celebrates the upcoming presentation One Child at a Time: World Peace Through Education with retired school principal & founder of Tanzania's Moshe International School Jerene Mortenson, Ph. D.
The presentation will be held at the Grandview Heights High School Auditorium on Wednesday, September 23, at 7 pm, with a reception to follow.
Lost & nearly frozen, Jerene's son, Greg Mortenson, stumbled off K-2 (the world's second highest mountain) into a remote Pakistani village. Villagers saved his life, and Greg promised to build them a school.
Since 1993, Greg has built 88 schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Hear Jerene tell the story of Greg's mission to promote peace one school at a time, one child at a time.
This program is funded & presented by The Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff Education Foundation. Please contact the Foundation for more information.
