Back Parking Lot Closed 3/22-4/07
The back parking lot, drive-thru, and outdoor return boxes will be closed from Friday, March 22—Sunday, April 7, due to construction.
Parking will remain available in the library’s auxiliary parking lot off Oakland Avenue (map) as well as on-street parking.
Patrons will need to pick up holds inside the building during this time.
To reduce library traffic issues during this time:
- Items checked out now through April 1 will not be due until April 8 (or later, depending on the loan period of the item).
- Programming and meeting room use will be limited.
- This period also coincides with Grandview Heights Schools’ spring break.
The Grandview Heights Public Library began construction for improvements to its east lawn, drive-thru, parking, and pedestrian pathways in late November 2023. Improvements will include a new covered outdoor stage for library events, a permanent exterior drive-thru, enhanced traffic flow and parking, and improved pedestrian accessibility and walkways.
A significant portion of the project is being funded with a private donation from the Grandview Heights Public Library Foundation. Thank you to the Foundation for making this project possible!
The majority of the back parking lot construction is expected to be completed by April 8. Other parking lot construction will continue with limited parking interruptions. The entire construction project will be completed in time to kick off the 38th Annual Music on the Lawn summer concert series (July-August) and celebrate the library’s 100th anniversary.
Thank you for your patience as we work to improve our parking lot access, pedestrian safety, and patron experience.
