Memorial Day Parade goes by the library

2015_PopUp_Library_Kevin_Weismann_costumeThe Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff Memorial Day Parade will take place Saturday, May 28, at 10 am.

The parade begins 10 am at Cambridge and First Avenues and continues down First Avenue to Oxley Road.

The route will impact access to the library during the morning.

  • Some streets near the library will be closed approximately 9-11:30 am.
  • Access the library from the south or park and cross First Avenue by foot during this time.
  • The parade should be past the library by 10:30 am.

Look for the library in the parade!

JUNE 2: Grandview Chocolate Walk

Chocolate_Walk_2015_rotateEnjoy a walking tour of Grandview with chocolate stops at 23 businesses on Thursday, June 2, 6-8 pm!

The Grandview Heights Public Library Foundation proudly presents the 3rd Annual Grandview Chocolate Walk to benefit the Grandview Library Endowment Fund. The event also highlights Grandview’s outstanding, pedestrian-friendly business district.

  • Purchase tickets:
  • Each $25 ticket allows the holder to collect a chocolate treat at 23 Grandview merchants on a route from the library down First and Grandview Avenues.
  • Limited number of tickets available; ticket sales end when sold out or on Monday, May 30, whichever comes first.
  • ALL TICKETS will be picked up “will call” the afternoon/evening of the walk on Thursday, June 2. The walk is from 6-8 pm; tickets will be available at the library beginning at 4 pm. Each ticket will be on a lanyard and accompanied by a bag to help you collect treats.

Greater access with your GHPL card

CLC_smYour Grandview Library card gives you access to 5 million+ items from the 14 Central Ohio member libraries of the Central Library Consortium (CLC).

Now, you can use it to check out materials and access services at participating libraries throughout central Ohio without having multiple library cards!

Services and programs vary, so check with each library before you go.

MAY 7: Grandview’s Great Garage Sale

The Great Grandview Garage Sale will take place throughout Grandview Heights and Marble Cliff on Saturday, May 7, from 9 am-3 pm!

Herb & Vegetable Plant Sale

friends_herb_sale_2013Purchase first-rate herbs and vegetables through the Friends of the Grandview Library‘s 4th annual sale!

Choose from a superior selection of 15 vegetables, 3 greens and 18 herbs. All proceeds are used to support the Library.

COST: $3.75 per plant or 10 plants for $35.

ORDER: All orders require pre-payment and must be received by April 1. Print and mail an Order Form (PDF) with payment to: The Friends of the Grandview Library, 1685 W First Ave, Columbus OH 43212, or drop off at the Library Circulation desk.

PICK UP: Orders on Saturday, May 14, from 8 am-11 am, at 1263 Oakland Avenue (just north of the Library).

DELIVERY: Available in the Grandview Heights area only for an additional $5.

Handmade mitten ornaments

2015_Remembrance_Tree_Mittens_Michele_Reinhart_eventHonor someone special with a Remembrance Tree ornament.

Purchase an ornament in honor or in memory of someone special, and help decorate the Grandview Library’s Remembrance Tree, located in our Atrium during the holidays.

This year’s mitten ornaments were handmade and donated by Library staff member Michele Reinhart.
The minimum donation is $15. Use this form (PDF) or pick one up in the Atrium.

Please consider a donation to the annual Remembrance Tree campaign to honor or remember someone special during the holiday season.
